SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING

It is now commonplace in many schools and youth development programs to include social emotional learning as an essential component of programming. Social Emotional Learning (SEL), helps youth identify their strengths and weaknesses, build confidence, navigate difficult situations and is considered a critical skill for learning.

As part of the Action Plan, the team recommends providing weekly workshops offering ideas, examples and activities for caregivers and service providers for supporting SEL development in youth as well as their parents and family members.
